Top 3 travel movies to get you going

As mentioned in my first presentation post I am a big movie fan. That is why I decided to make my top list of travel movies(not THE list, but my favourite ones).

I believe that even though there are a lot of great tourism advertisements, there is nothing that can promote better a destination then a film. Because these, have the fascinating way to inspire and excite a viewer towards a destination no type of advertisement can.

Because isn't right that most of you have had the feeling after watching a movie that you may have though " I would love to be in that place right now" or that you get more curious about that place and you make a bit of research of it.

So without further ado, here is my top movie travel list:

1- Diario de motocicleta (The motorcycle diaries).

The motorcycle diaries is based on the true story of when Ernesto "Che" Guevarra and his friend Alberto Granado travelled across South America initially by motorcycle. The movie shows the evolution of "Che's" character and how he discovers himself.

The movie is a inspirational story of how one of the most influential people that have ever lived and it shows his evolution as a person in this story.

The film also shows you breathtaking scenaries from South America that will, for sure, not dissapoint you. It is, in my opinion, a must see in travel movies.

2- Into the wild

Based on the true story, Into the wild explains the how Christopher McCandless  after graduating University  decided to leave all his possesions, donate all his money to charity and change his name in order to  embark himself in a journey towards Alaska, into the wild.

This is in my opinion the  #1 travel movie to make you think, as it shows how a guy walks out of his privlieged life in search for adventure. It is extreamly inspiring, motivating and breathtaking. Along with beautiful landskapes of the USA and a amazing soundtrack that will make you just fall in love with the movie.

 3-Slumdog Millionaire

http://www.thatfilmguy.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/slumdog-millionaire.jpg
Kumal Nayar, a orphan kid from India,  is a question away from winning the highest price of the indian version of  "who wants to be a millionaire?".

The movie shows how through different and amazing journeys a uneducated kid could be able respon right every question  in this quiz show.

In comparison with the two movies mentioned before, this movie is not exactly about the act of travelling, but it shows you a inner part of culture and way of living in India never shown before.

This is a must see, not just in the category of travel movies, but in the overall category  due to the story, the scenaries, the characters...everything.
.

The list is really short but and I know there are a lot of more travel movies that could be included, but I just wanted to post my top 3 I believe  could be classified as masterpieces. I hope you enjoyed it and feel free to add some movies in the comments.

Presentación-Presentation of myself

English version.                                                         Más abajo hay la versión en castellano

I was born in the city of Sundsvall, Sweden, further away where foreign tourism exists, maybe just a few tourists pass by and that is only because there have gotten lost on their way to Lapland. Born from a Swedish mother and a Spanish father, I was raised in a bilingual family, what a lucky boy! you may think. But still having the opportunity of growing up being bilingual it I did not learn a word in Spanish until the age of 10 almost eleven. Yes, I started to learn Spanish at the moment that my sister, my dad and I(well, basically he decided and we nodded our heads) decided to cross Europe by car to move to Spain. And it wasn't until then, as I had the need to comunicate that I learned Spanish and a posteriori got to know the existence of Catalan culture and its language.

I am a student of a degree in tourism at  the University of Girona, which makes me what we call in Spain a "turistologo" a person that studies tourism, and not a Tourist!. I have been stuyuing it now for almost 3 years and it is impossible for me to explain the amount of times I have heard anoying questions like: What profession can you have after study that?, That is a useless degree or one of my favourites(while playing games such as trivial pursuit, when question like: " If I would be looking at the oldest tree of the USA, what tree would that be? " comes up, Simon should say it he studies tourism. Does the geographer know all the capital cities of the world? Or does a mathematical knows all the math formulas?.

To make a parentesis, I have to say that my first option was not to study tourism, I wanted to be a filmmaker, or be involved somehow in the entertainment business, but unfourtunely all these types of degrees are way to expensive for my economical possibilities.

Back to tourism and why the idea of this blog. As you may think obvious, one of the main reasons I ended up studying tourism was because I love travelling, and that a point I wanted to get to. The decision of creating this blog was because I had an idea about what my final degree thesis would be about, the theme of which will be related to travel blogs and new styles of backpacking travellers. In other words, the types of travellers that always, wherever they go, try to stay conected to web, wheter it is writing blogs, making vlogs, or posting pictures or updating their statuses on social networks.

And that is why I created this blogs, to get to know the inside experience of a travel blogger, to be able to analyze and study it better when it comes to writing my final thesis. So this blog will containt the before, the at the moment and the after of my travels, informative travel news, opinions, among other things.

Castellano
